Water Pollution Control - Septage Haulers

The City of Painesville’s Water Pollution Control Plant accepts trucked waste (septage) from permitted waste haulers. Haulers can receive a permit by submitting a "Trucked Waste Discharge Permit" application along with the applicable fees and documentation.

The City of Painesville’s WPCP will not accept grease trap waste or any waste, including domestic septage waste, that is determined by the Superintendent or designee to cause harm to the operation of the wastewater plant.

The City of Painesville requires all septage haulers to be licensed by the State of Ohio.

Fees and applicable discharge costs are available in Technical Document No. 1 found in the link below.

The operating hours of the Painesville septage receiving station are:

Monday – Thursday                   7:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Friday                                        7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Saturday                                    7:00 AM – 12:00 PM

*Special arrangements for disposal may be made with advanced notice to plant staff.

All septage loads must be accompanied by a "Waste Manifest Form" provided by the City of Painesville.

All septage haulers are billed monthly by the City’s billing department. Septage haulers are expected to pay their bill upon receipt of the invoice. Those who do not will lose their dumping privileges at the Painesville plant.
