Residential Help Center

Your starting point for who to call, where to go, etc.

The City of Painesville’s Resident Action Center is called Gov Q&A and it allows residents and businesses to access City Services on a 24/7 basis.  It will handle all incoming requests for service, requests for information or citizen complaints.  Gov Q&A requires only internet access, no extra programs or setup.

The Resident Action Center provides easier and efficient interaction for citizens with the following features:

  • Find Answers – a searchable Knowledge base in which the user can enter a phrase, word, or question to find useful information.
  • Ask a Question – use this feature to send a message to the city with a specific question.  Citizens get a confirmation email and later the answer. Answers are added to the growing Knowledge base to trap incoming questions in the future.
  • Make a Service Request – Citizens can initiate Service Requests (e.g. for pothole repair).  Requests are routed/tracked until completed and citizen notified.
  • My Painesville, Ohio – Citizens login to check status on their information or service request.

Gov Q&A was implemented with idea of the citizen having more access to City services without coming into City Hall.  The service includes a knowledge base where citizens can ask and receive answers to common questions and a subscription function which will be used for public polling and surveying as well as communicating to the public about emergencies and other relevant City business through email.
