Paul W. Hach II, Ward IV
Paul has served on Painesville City Council since 2004 and was President of Council from January 2014 to January 2022. Before being elected to office, Paul served on the Board of Zoning Appeals, graduated from the City’s Citizens Police Academy and was a member of the Painesville City Education Foundation, Painesville Community Improvement Corporation (PCIC) for 20 years, Lake Erie College Matthews House Restoration Board, Lake Erie Community Advisory Committee and chaired the City’s Housing Issues Task Force Committee.
Paul was a board member of the Lake County NAACP from 2015 to 2022, the 2018 President of Painesville Lions Club, a member of the Painesville Exchange Club, graduate of Leadership Lake County and a member of the 2015 Lakeland College Hall of Fame. In 2018, he was awarded the Spirit of Main Street Award from Heritage Ohio.
Paul has been a long-time advocate for Painesville Electric. In 2021, Paul was appointed to the American Public Power Association (APPA)'s Policy Makers Board. He is also a board member at the Ohio Municipal Electric Association (OMEA).
Paul has worked at his family business, Hach Excavating and Demolition, since 1983. His hobbies include home restorations, classic cars and tennis. Paul has two adult children, both of whom are engineers and graduates of Painesville City Local Schools.
