Grand Rock Company honored with 2026 John F. Clair Economic Development Award

That impact is now being recognized with the City of Painesville’s 2026 John F. Clair Economic Development Award. Grand Rock Company President Haris Tokalic accepted the award at Monday’s City Council meeting.
“We are so glad and happy that we can contribute and be part of this community,” Tokalic said after receiving the award. “It is such a good feeling to see across the world the words ‘Grand Rock’ label, followed by ‘Painesville, Ohio.’”
Grand Rock is a premium supplier of exhaust parts for Class 8 Heavy Duty Trucks, and offers exhaust solutions for other classes of trucks and school buses.
With nearly five decades of experience, Grand Rock Company has grown into a trusted manufacturer of exhaust systems and components, known for its commitment to quality, precision and customer service. The company produces more than 95 percent of its product line in-house using advanced equipment and design technology, while maintaining rigorous quality control standards. As a proud North American manufacturer, Grand Rock sources materials and production across the United States and beyond, reinforcing its commitment to both craftsmanship and industry leadership.
Grand Rock Company has called Painesville home since 1995 and has continued to expand its footprint within the Painesville Industrial Park. The company now employs 65 people and recently acquired an additional building to support future growth.
That growth has been driven by intentional leadership and a focus on long-term success. Company leaders have participated in programs such as GlobalTarget and Scalerator NEO, which are designed to help businesses scale sustainably and compete in global markets.
Grand Rock’s impact extends far beyond Painesville. The company has earned both the Lake-Geauga Fast Track 50 Award and the prestigious “E” Star Award from the U.S. Department of Commerce, one of the highest honors recognizing excellence in export growth.
