Painesville Recognized for Excellence in Financial Reporting

For the 33rd consecutive year, the City of Painesville Finance Department has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting. This award, presented by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA), is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting.

 

“On behalf of the City, I am honored to receive this award,” said Andy Unetic, Painesville Finance Director. “It is my professional desire to serve the City to the best of my ability for the benefit of its residents. I would also like to thank my staff for all of their efforts in helping the City achieve this award.”

 

The Certificate of Achievement was awarded for the comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2019. The report has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standard of the program, which includes demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate the organization’s financial story.
