Now Accepting Clerk of Council Applications

The City of Painesville is seeking a permanent part-time Clerk of Council. Duties include attending City Council and other meetings (evenings), record and prepare minutes with follow-up including legal notices; prepare agendas and packets; coordinate, review and update ordinances; answer phones and work directly with the City Council; manage and oversee video recording of meetings.

  • Ability to compose letters & written material, establish and maintain communication skills with Council, the public and staff.
  • Knowledge of governmental procedures, legal requirements for legislative process and administrative skills.
  • Ideal candidate will have or must achieve CMC designation within 3 years of appointment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s Degree preferred.
