Painesville announces grand opening celebration for new amphitheater

Opening night on July 1 to feature RUMOURS (Fleetwood Mac tribute band) and fireworks

Painesville City’s Grand Amphitheater will now hold a Grand Opening on July 1 with a community celebration featuring live music, fireworks, and the start of a new chapter for summer entertainment in downtown Painesville.

Opening night will feature a performance by Rumours, a Fleetwood Mac tribute band, followed by fireworks along the riverfront. A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 5:30 p.m., and the concert will begin at 6 p.m.

To help ensure the amphitheater lawn is fully established and ready for the season, the city has adjusted the early portion of its summer concert schedule. Concerts on June 17 and June 24 will now take place at the historic gazebo in Painesville Square before the series moves to Painesville City’s Grand Amphitheater in July.

The June 10 concert featuring Rock the House Live has been rescheduled for August 19.

Concerts at the new venue will continue throughout July and August. Food trucks will be at each show, and the city’s concession stand will be selling beer and wine. The food trucks will sell water and soda.

Ken Ganley Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Lake County has signed on as the presenting sponsor of the amphitheater through 2030.
