At the 2025 Business Appreciation Night hosted at Steele Mansion on November 6, the Painesville Economic Development Department announced the winners of their Economic Development Awards.
2025 Manufacturer of the Year
Weaver Meats, Inc. - 380 Fountain Ave, Painesville, Ohio
Weaver Meats, Inc. has been making meat snack products in Painesville since 1997 and have chosen to stay and grow in Painesville, recently adding 18,500 square feet of space to their current facility and bringing more jobs to the community. Congratulations Weaver Meats!
2025 Builder/Developer of the Year
Renew Partners LLC - 30 S Park Place & 1 Victoria Place, Painesville, Ohio
Renew Partners successfully renovated the vacant, former Chase Bank building into student housing for Lake Erie College, bringing 172 students to live downtown. They are also currently renovating Victoria Place (the former New Market Mall) into 78 market-rate apartments, 35,000± square feet of office space, and two restaurants. These two projects represent approximately $50 million in new investment downtown, greatly supporting Painesville’s revitalization efforts. Congratulations Renew Partners!

Bistro 70 - 70 N St. Clair Street, Painesville, Ohio
Chef/Owner Keith Koenig chose to open Bistro 70 in Painesville over 20 years ago and his fine dining establishment continues to bring many customers to downtown Painesville. Keith and Bistro 70 also support many local charities in the region. Congratulations Bistro 70!
2025 Business Person of the Year
Jonathan Lee, CEO, Signature Health - 54 S State Street, Painesville, Ohio
Under the leadership of Jonathan Lee, Signature Health expanded and relocated its healthcare facility to downtown Painesville and recently added even more services to this location, filling all space available in the building with needed medical services for Painesville residents.
