Now Accepting Applications for John F Clair Award

The City of Painesville Department of Economic Development is proud to announce the John F. Clair Economic Development Award. Councilman John Clair served the Painesville community throughout the late 80s and 90s and was truly a community leader and visionary who believed that Painesville was and could be much more than believed. It was his “never take no for an answer” attitude that helped with the retention and expansion the city's business community. It was John’s leadership, vision, novel approach and commitment to the growth of the City of Painesville that inspired the John F. Clair Economic Development Award.

 

Requirements:

  1. Must be a Painesville City business/organization for at least one year and in good standing (no outstanding utilities or permit violations)
  2. The business/organization should demonstrate the value of balancing business and community service
  3. The business/organization should substantially contribute time and energy to the growth of the community
  4. The business/organization should contribute to the positive image and growth of the city, either through investment or volunteerism
  5. All businesses/organizations are eligible, including non-profits, private enterprise and government agencies

 

To nominate a business/organization, please turn in the nomination form to the Economic Development Department at Painesville City Hall or call 440-392-5795. Nominations are due by Thursday, January 9, 2020.
