Notice of Legislation Passed at the May 18, 2026 City Council Meeting
Notice is hereby given that Painesville City Council adopted the following legislation on Monday, May 18, 2026:
1. ORDINANCE 13-26 – An Ordinance amending Section 167.30 of the Painesville Code of 1998 relating to the Classification and Compensation Plan, and declaring an emergency. (1st Reading 05.18.26 PASSED 6-0)
2. ORDINANCE 14-26 – An Ordinance amending appropriations for the current expenses and expenditures of the City of Painesville, State of Ohio for the fiscal year beginning January 1, 2026 and adopting the operating budget, and declaring an emergency. (1st Reading 05.18.26 PASSED 6-0)
3. RESOLUTION – A Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to enter into an extension agreement with Browning-Ferris Industries of Ohio (aka, Republic Services) for trash services for the City of Painesville, and declaring an emergency. (1st Reading 05.18.26 FAILED 0-6)
4. RESOLUTION 31-26 – A Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the City of Willoughby Hills, Ohio for trash services with Major Waste for the City of Painesville, and declaring an emergency. (1st Reading 05.18.26 PASSED 6-0)
5. RESOLUTION 32-26 – A Resolution authorizing and directing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with Lake Erie College and/or Vallejo Company for the resurfacing of Campus Drive, and declaring an emergency. (1st Reading 05.18.26 PASSED 6-0)
