Groundbreaking of Painesville Amphitheater

This past Tuesday, October 21, the City of Painesville hosted the official groundbreaking celebration for the new Painesville Amphitheater at 257 E Main Street.

This $1.95 million project includes seating built into the hill under the new Grand River Walk project with a concession stand, green room, restrooms, lighting, acoustic equipment, landscaping and resurfacing of the parking lot. Burgess & Niple completed the design and engineering work and Town Center Construction is the lead contractor.

"This is the beginning of something truly special for our community: a space that will bring people together for music, art, celebration and connection right here in the heart of our city and it marks another major step forward in the continued revitalization of downtown Painesville."

$1.35 million of the project funding comes from outside sources including Rescue Plan Act funds from the Lake County Commissioners, Land and Water Conservation Funds from the Ohio Department of Natural Resource, state capital funding thanks to State Senator Jerry Cirino and State Representative Jamie Callendar and funds from the Ohio Lake Erie Commission for porous pavers. The balance of the project will come from city funds.

The majority of construction is expected to be complete by end of year, with a project end date in the Spring 2026.
