Update on 113 Main Street, Former Dollar Bank Building
Due to growing speculation over the announced brewery at 113 Main Street, Painesville City would like to give the community an update on the property and continue to express our diligent efforts to bring a brewery to this site. Over the past year, two business partners who have chosen to remain anonymous, have been in intense business and legal negotiations over the proposed brewery. As of right now, there is no timeline under current ownership. In discussions, all parties involved believe that this site would support a successful brew-pub and the city will continue to do everything in its power to support this effort.
Painesville has been targeting this central property for reinvestment for many years. City efforts include obtaining US EPA Environmental Assessment Grants to conduct a phase I, phase II and hazardous substances assessment, a mechanical systems assessment and most notably, a $12,300 storefront improvement grant to clean up and paint the outside of the building. The city was very pleased with the work done by Main Street LLC, which provided a complimentary look and feel to the building exterior within the downtown.
Overall, the city is excited about the work already done to the building and has plans in place to attract future use of this site as a brewery or restaurant if the current business owners cannot come to an agreement.
