Painesville Police Officers Recognized
At Monday, February 6's Painesville City Council meeting, Chief Dan Waterman presented awards to multiple officers for their outstanding service to the City.
- Officer Dallas McCloud received the Department Medal of Excellence for his outstanding performance in multiple areas of police work for many years. Particularly his willingness to always help others.
- The Painesville Detective Bureau (Lt Larry Armstrong, Detective Donald Ticel, Detective William Smith and Detective Vince Crews) received the Unit Citation for their extraordinary acts of investigation and skill over multiple years, working tirelessly on several high-profile homicide cases.
- Lt Mike Slocum received the Honorable Service Award in recognition of his retirement from the Lake County S.W.A.T. team after 14 years serving, much of that time as their less than lethal instructor.
- Lt Toby Burgett received the Chief's Bar for faithfully and diligently serving the role of administrative lieutenant, including leading several large projects like the intersection camera project.
- Lt Larry Armstrong received the Chief's Bar for running the administrative role in Code Enforcement, a new responsibility for the Police Department. He implemented a new data system and improved efficiency of this busy city department.
