Painesville Hires New Electric Superintendent
At the July 15 Painesville City Council meeting, City Manager Doug Lewis announced his appointment of Joe Price to the open position of Painesville Electric Superintendent.
Price comes to Painesville with a background of public administration and business management. For the last nine years, Price has served as the Village Administrator for Grafton, Ohio, which includes the role of Director of Public Utilities. He previously represented Grafton on the AMP Board of Trustees and is currently serving his fourth term as Councilman-at-Large for the City of Broadview Heights. Prior to his roles in public service, Price spent over 40 years in sales and service management in the tire and automotive market.
“I am pleased to welcome Joe as our next Electric Superintendent,” said Lewis. “I believe his experience in public administration and utilities management will provide a solid background for this position. Joe led Grafton’s Renewable Energy Project Development which included a 4-megawatt solar site. This experience will be invaluable as Painesville Electric moves forward with our own 35-megawatt site on the former Diamond Shamrock property.”
The superintendent role opened after former Painesville Electric Superintendent Jeff McHugh announced his retirement earlier this year. The Electric Superintendent oversees the Electric Division which is comprised of two departments: Electric Plant and Electric Distribution. Price began his new role on August 5.
