Painesville Celebrates 225th Anniversary

Happy Birthday to Us! 2025 marks the 225th anniversary of the founding of Painesville. On May 1, 1800, 66 settlers from Connecticut and New York, led by General Edward Paine, arrived on the banks of the Grand River. For more history, check out these links:
 
Founding Tree Planting & Story Time
On Thursday, May 1 at 6:00 p.m., join us for a tree planting ceremony in Painesville Square honoring our 225th anniversary. A story time featuring General Paine will follow with cupcakes from Gartman Model Bakery after. All are invited to join!
 
Painesville's 225th Birthday Bash
It's time to party like it's 1800! Head to Painesville Square on Saturday, September 6 for Painesville's official 225th Birthday Party. The event will include music, food trucks, games, vendors and more. Look out for more info as the date approaches!
