Painesville Fall Photo Scavenger Hunt

Get to know Painesville this Fall by participating in our Fall Photo Scavenger Hunt. Below are four categories that show what Painesville has to offer. Complete each category and show proof of photo for the chance to enter a raffle ticket to win a Nintendo Switch! Must be 18 or younger to qualify for the raffle but all ages are encouraged to participate. Good luck!

 

Stop #1 - Painesville Kiwanis Recreation Park (301 Latimore Street)


Kiwanis Recreation Park, commonly known as Rec Park, is the City's largest park at 75 acres and is located on the scenic Grand River. The park features many amenities including 9 baseball/softball diamonds, a football stadium, disc golf course, fishing pond, basketball court, 3 pavilions, 2 playgrounds, skate park, fitness trail and much more!

Stop #2 - Painesville Cemeteries (Evergreen or Riverside Cemeteries)


Did you know that the City of Painesville owns and operates two cemeteries year round? Riverside Cemetery has been around since 1953 and Evergreen was established in 1850! Evergreen Cemetery has numerous famous graves, including over 300 civil war veterans and many more local heroes. Learn more about the cemeteries unique history at www.painesville.com/cemeteries

Fall Photo: Take a picture at either cemetery. Get creative! You could be in it or take a picture of an interesting headstone or sign. Just remember to be respectful.

 

Stop #3 - Visit a Painesville Business


Support local business owners and stop at any Painesville City business or restaurant! Downtown Painesville offers a variety of options including a floral shop, hardware store, restaurants, bakeries, yoga studio, furniture store, art studio and much more! Any city business qualifies

Stop #4 – Local Historic Site or Building


Painesville is one of the oldest communities in the Western Reserve! Established in 1800, the City has an abundance of historical sites to visit including Charter Oak Park, Lake Erie College, Steele Mansion, Rider’s Inn, the Civil War Memorial on Painesville Square, the Railroad Museum, and numerous other historic homes and sites. How to Enter Raffle


Once you have completed all four categories and are ready to enter the raffle, follow the instructions below:

  1. Stop by the Painesville Recreation Office to fill out your information form (54 Mentor Ave, Painesville, Ohio 44077) - Office hours are 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.
  2. Our staff will check to make sure each category was completed which will require you to show us the pictures at each stop as well as the optional extra raffle ticket if a purchase was made at a Painesville City establishment. You can show us on your phone or print the photos, whatever is easiest for you!
  3. If all criteria are met, you will receive a raffle sheet to fill out and drop your ticket in the barrel for a chance to win the Nintendo Switch!
  4. Each child 18 and under can participate in the raffle once only. Parents/Guardians can submit information and photos on behalf of their young children.

Raffle tickets must be entered by end of day Wednesday, October 21. Our winner will be drawn live on the City of Painesville’s Facebook page on Friday, October 23 at 4:00 p.m. Winners will be notified by phone call.
