Painesville Charter Review Committee Sets Meeting Dates

On Monday, February 13, the newly-appointed Painesville Charter Review Committee met for the first time. The Charter Review Committee occurs every 10 years and is comprised of nine city residents. After an application process in January, Painesville City Council appointed nine residents: Kevin Bogdanski, Jan Clair, Kelsey Fischer, Pastor Michael Jackson, Katie Jenkins, Daniel Nicholson, Joan Pouewells, Father Steve Vellenga and Maribel Young.

At the first meeting, the Committee selected Jan Clair as Chairperson and Kevin Bogdanski as Vice-Chairperson. The Committee set a meeting schedule and public comment procedure in preparation for their July 17, 2023 deadline. This deadline allows any proposed changes to be submitted to the Board of Elections to be voted upon by the residents in the November 2023 election.
