Take Me to the River: Painesville announces inaugural concert season at new amphitheater

This summer, the City of Painesville has a simple invitation for residents and visitors alike: take me to the river.

The new Painesville Amphitheater will host a full season of weekly concerts at Kiwanis Park along the Grand River The eight-week concert series will run every Wednesday from June 10 through July 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., bringing some of Northeast Ohio’s most popular bands to Painesville.

“This amphitheater was designed to bring people together,” said Painesville City Manager Doug Lewis. “Launching our first concert season here is an exciting milestone for the city, and we’re looking forward to welcoming residents and visitors for a summer of great music in Painesville.”

The 2026 season opens June 10 with Rock the House Live, a high-energy cover band known for performing everything from Top 40 hits and Motown classics to rock and pop favorites. The band has been voted “Best Band” by Cleveland Magazine.

The concert series is made possible thanks to community partners. Gold sponsors include GDB Ventures and Loreto Development Company, with additional support from Cleveland Clinic Mentor Hospital, Best Truck Equipment, Inc., and the Ohio Arts Council.

The amphitheater itself was made possible largely through state and regional grant funding. The new venue is expected to host concerts, festivals and community events for years to come — beginning with this historic first season.
