Now Accepting Applications for 2025 Hometown Hero Banners
The City of Painesville is now accepting applications for the 2025 Hometown Heroes Banner Program.
The City of Painesville’s Hometown Heroes Banner Program honors current or former Painesville City residents or their family members who have served our country in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard or Space Force.
Banners are displayed between Memorial Day through Veterans Day on utility poles along Mentor Avenue in Painesville City. Families and organizations can sponsor a banner for $95.00 each to cover production costs.
Banners are 24” x 54” and double sided. Banners include the name of the service person, the military branch served and the sponsor’s name of the banner. Please note, the City of Painesville is not responsible for replacing banners that are stolen, damaged, or destroyed due to age, vandalism, or any acts of nature.
A proof of the design will be sent via email to the applicant for approval prior to printing. The exact banner location is at the City’s discretion. The City of Painesville will store banners over the winter months to rehang the following year (up to three years, the average lifespan of a banner). If a banner has become faded or damaged before this time, the City of Painesville will reach out to the applicant to inquire if they would like to reprint the banner.
Requirements:
- The service person must be a current or former Painesville City resident or family member
- Applicants must provide a high-resolution digital image (.png or .jpg) or photograph
- Applicants must turn in a completed application, photo and payment (check or cash) by April 28, 2025 to have a banner hung during the 2025 season
