Painesville's 225th Anniversary Mural Now on Display

Students from Chestnut, Maple and Elm Elementary Schools in Painesville City helped create this beautiful mural in celebration of Painesville’s 225th anniversary in 2025!

5th graders created the individual color squares, while 3rd graders made self-portraits for the numbers.

A special thanks to Chestnut Art Teacher Shawn Riley for designing and organizing this mural with help from Maple Art Teacher Bridget Holzheimer, Elm Art Teacher Jen Roberts and PCLS Communications Manager Chas Irish.

You can see the mural in person in the Painesville City Hall lobby (7 Richmond Street, Painesville) now through the end of the year! City Hall is open Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The mural will also be making an appearance at some community event this summer (weather permitting)! See it for the first time on Thursday, May 1 for Painesville's 225th Founding Tree Planting & Story Time in Painesville Square at 6:00 p.m. All are welcome.
