Kiwanis Recreation Park, commonly known as Rec Park, is the City's largest park at 75 acres and is located on the scenic Grand River. The park includes 8 baseball diamond used by various leagues as well as Painesville City Local Schools and Lake Erie College. The football/track stadium is jointly used by Harvey High School and Lake Erie College. Fishing is a big sport in Rec Park, with visitors having access to both the Grand River and Rec Park Pond, which is stocked every Spring.

Pavilion Rentals


Pavilions at Rec Park are available for rental between 9:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. The cost is $50 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Pavilions are only available to rent from April 1 through October 1. Please contact the Recreation Office at at 440-392-5912 to reserve. The use of alcohol anywhere in the park is strictly prohibited.

 

Baseball Field Rentals


Baseball diamonds at Rec Park are available for rental pending league schedules. The cost is $30 for residents and non-residents. Please contact the Recreation Office at 440-392-5912 to reserve. Any tournaments also need to be scheduled with the office (two or more games is considered a tournament), for planning purposes. 

 

Splash Pad


The Painesville Splash Pad is located across from the Main Pavilion in Rec Park. It is open starting Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend, daily, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Water is on a timer that will automatically shut on and off at these times. To play during Splash Pad hours, simple put your hand over the red sensor at the entrance to the Splash Pad to begin the cycle. This feature is used to save water when the play area is not in use. 

 

Dog Park


The Painesville Dog Park is located after Diamond #5, before the Skate Park, and feature two areas: one for small dogs (under 25 lbs) and one for large dogs (over 25 lbs). The dog park is open from dawn to dusk, daily.
