Painesville City Approved Haul Roads Map

Approved haul roads are streets that 4-ton and over trucks should use as a transportation route for their own safety and to not damage residential roadways.

Pavement Condition Ratings Map

Map updated in 2023. The pavement condition rating (PCR) method used by ODOT and the City of Painesville is based upon visual inspection of pavement distresses. The various distresses for concrete, asphalt and brick pavements are rated on three levels of severity (Low, Medium, High) and three levels of extent (Occasional, Frequent, Extensive). Downtown Painesville Historic District Map

In July 2020, the U.S. National Park Service added Downtown Painesville to the National Register of Historic Places. The honor is a huge boost to Painesville’s revitalization efforts which will ensure that the current historic buildings and sites within the downtown area will be recognized by the U.S. National Park Service and considered a national resource. It also allows local businesses and organizations to apply for preservation tax credits. For more information on Historic Districts, contact the Planning office. 

Mentor Avenue Historic District Map

Adopted by Painesville City Council in July 2009, a historic district was established including portions of Mentor Avenue, Washington Street, Wood Street and Erie Street. For more information on Historic Districts, contact the Planning office. 

Bank Street Historic District Map

Adopted by Painesville City Council in July 2009, a historic district was established to include a portion of Bank Street from E Walnut Avenue to S State Street. For more information on Historic Districts, contact the Planning office. 

Railroad Street Historic District Map

Adopted by Painesville City Council in July 2009, a historic district was established to include all of Railroad Street. For more information on Historic Districts, contact the Planning office. 

Painesville Opportunity Zones

Opportunity Zones are a new community investment tool established by Congress in the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 to encourage long-term investments in low-income urban and rural communities nationwide. Opportunity Zones provide a tax incentive for investors to re-invest their unrealized capital gains into dedicated Opportunity Funds.
