The Parks & Recreation Commission advises the Public Lands and Recreation Department on park development and recreational programming throughout the City.
The Commission provides input on:
- Community events and programming
- Summer camps and youth activities
- Concert series and seasonal events
- Planning and improvements for parks and public spaces
Painesville maintains 12 parks and two cemeteries as part of its public lands system.
Membership
The Commission is made up of five members appointed by City Council.
- Members serve staggered three-year terms
- Positions are unpaid
- Members represent a cross section of the community with an interest in parks, recreation, and community engagement
2026 Meeting Information
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each quarter (four times a year or on a as needed basis), at 4:30 p.m. at the Painesville Recreation Office, 54 Mentor Ave, Painesville.
