The Parks and Recreation Commission is responsible for advising the Public Lands and Recreation Department on matters of recreation programming and park development. Discussion and decisions are made regarding children's events, concert series, summer camp, recreation programs and any public lands planning or concerns. Painesville City is responsible for 12 parks and two cemeteries.
The Parks and Recreation Commission consists of five members appointed by City Council for three year staggered terms. Commission members should represent a cross section of citizens with an interest in community enhancement, an understanding of the benefits of Parks and Recreation, and the ability to promote the goals and objectives of the Public Lands and Recreation Department.
Meeting Information
Meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each quarter (four times a year or on a as needed basis), at 4:30 p.m. at the Painesville Recreation Office, 54 Mentor Ave, Painesville.
