Painesville Electric has upgraded its meter infrastructure with advanced meters, also known as smart meters.

Advanced meters securely transmit electric-usage information through a wireless network. They help Painesville Electric improve service reliability, respond more quickly to outages and provide customers with near real-time information about their energy use.

There is no additional cost to customers for the advanced meter upgrade.
