The Painesville Utility Committee functions as an advisory body to provide input on the decision-making regarding the Painesville Electric system and to serve a similar role and function for the Water, Sewer and Storm Water utilities of the City.. This includes topics such as the purchase of power, financing, operations, improvements and any programs associated with the public utilities system.

 

The Utility Committee consists of five voting members and one City Council member who serves as a non-voting liaison. Each committee member has staggered three-year terms who are appointed based on their ability and education level in the fields of engineering, accounting or finance, administration and management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and ability. To be eligible, committee members must be an end-user of a Painesville utility system and be appointed by City Council.

  


Meeting Information

Meetings are held quarterly in the months of January, April, July and October, with an organizational meeting held every two years to appoint a chairman and vice-chairman of the committee.
